It's another Friday but in another way, it's not just any Friday! It's Friday the 13th! Which happens... every so often.
I'm sitting here at work, applying for other jobs because I hate my job, and thinking it's about time to fire up another OT. I was reminded that it's F13, which just happens to be one of my favorite days because I remember staying up all night watching the Friday the 13th marathons on AMC. Good times, good crimes.
As a horror movie aficionado (I still haven't learned how to spell that word correctly, thanks spellcheck red line!) I must say that Jason is... not my favorite horror movie villain. But he's certainly up there! Of the major franchises, it would have to go something like this:
1. Michael Myers
2. Freddy Krueger
3. Jason Voorhees
4. Angela Baker (Sleepaway Camp)
5. Charles Lee Ray aka Chucky
6. Serial Mom
Though Scream is my favorite horror movie franchise, I don't consider "Ghostface" to be a singular horror movie villain.
My favorite Friday the 13th movie is not the original -- it's actually not a great horror movie -- but it's Friday the 13th: A New Beginning, the fifth installment in the series. It's the one with Corey Feldman in the opening scene, and then a kid getting axed to death by a non-Jason Vorhees character. I always found that really scary. That a horror movie could have a terrible villain that's only a side character who disappears right after and never returns again. I won't spoil the ending for you, after all, this movie only came out 29 years ago.
So, I ask you LL... what's your favorite scary movie? (And all the other prompts that'll be more relevant after today.)
