News and stories about the Seattle Mariners and other analysis from around the league.

Hope you all had a great Memorial Day and are ready for another day of Mariners baseball tonight! Here are some links to get you started for the day:

  • James Paxton was scratched from his bullpen session yesterday with triceps soreness. He will likely play catch today and hopefully is still on schedule to make his first start in Seattle since his injury next week.
  • In the good news department, Taijuan Walker will make his first rehab outing for Tacoma on Wednesday.
  • Lloyd McClendon doesn't appear to think Logan Morrison will be back any time soon.
  • Matthew and Jeff's new podcast link here.
  • Ichiro claims that he wants to pitch with the Yankees.
  • Say, remember that Brendan Ryan dude? Viva El Birdos does a nice feature piece on his career as a whole with the Yankees coming to play the Cardinals this week.
  • Grant Brisbee wonders how the Rangers would have done this year without all of the injuries they've faced.
  • Josh Beckett may have no-hit the Phillies, but Steven Goldman doesn't think this means Beckett has made a successful comeback. (Also, holy crap that Dodgers rotation is looking pretty good right about now).
  • Following a brawl between the Red Sox and Braves, Grant Brisbee investigates how big a lead should be before a team shouldn't be allowed to steal bases anymore.
  • August Fagerstrom of Fangraphs argues that Indans' pitcher Corey Kluber could be an ace.
  • Yu Darvish, in addition to knowing how to throw about 56 (exaggerated) different kinds of pitches, can apparently also throw them at different speeds.
Not a whole lot of links compared to usual, sorry about that. If I missed something you thought was interesting feel free to comment below so others have more to read!
