The Mariners are doing okay right now. It may not feel like it, what with dropping two winnable games to the Rays and Brad Miller's recent implosion, but they're a .500 team playing the Twins. Things can only go up from here (knock on wood, just to be safe).
Chris Young is taking the mound tonight for his seventh start and, hopefully, his fourth consecutive win. He has yet to lose a game, and last pitched against the Royals on Saturday, giving up three hits, zero walks, and a run while striking out three batters over eight innings. The Mariners, meanwhile, will go head-to-head against 26-year-old right-hander Kyle Gibson, who boasts a 4.74 ERA after allowing six runs in a single inning to the Tigers last weekend.
- Mariners @ Twins, 5:10 p.m. PST
- Today's game will be televised on ROOT Sports, broadcast on 710 ESPN, and available for out-of-market fans at MLB TV here.
- Per MLB.com's Greg Johns, both Taijuan Walker and James Paxton are scheduled to throw simulation games over the next few days.
- Although Tom Wilhelmsen is nursing a streak of 11 1/3 scoreless innings, Ryan Divish reminds us that his last outing at Target Field was less than successful.
