I'm travelling half way around the world to see the M's....

Hi guys,

I'm in the process of making arrangements to spend around a month in North America from mid-May to mid-June. I have a mate who lives on Vancouver Island, he's just had a little baby so I'm going over to hang out for a bit. Considering the proximity to Seattle, I thought it would be a great opportunity to pop down and watch a few games at SafeCo. At the moment, I'm lining up the Tigers series at the end of May (maybe even those horrible Angels).

Anyways, I'm sure you are all really enthralled about these plans of a complete stranger.......

What I really came here to ask for was your opinions on the places to visit in the Seattle/Washington area. I'm thinking of heading down to Seattle by ferry for a week or so, and while watching a weeks worth of games at SafeCo sounds like a marvellous idea, it would seem a bit of a waste travelling to the otherside of the world without doing some sightseeing. So, I'll probably go to a couple of games (1 Angels, 1 Tigers), and have about 3-4 days free to travel around the area.

So LLers, it would be greatly appreciated if you could spare a little of your precious time to help me out with my travel plans. I wont have my own transportation, and I'd likely be staying at a downtown Seattle backpackers. So, where should I go? Where should I stay clear of? (tourist traps etc) Do I need more time to really appreciate the area? Any insight would be great.

I know I could look this sort of stuff up of the net, but I wanted to hear from you guys.

Cheers, and many thanks in advance

(P.S Sorry if this is a little off topic or out of place as a FanPost)
