Terrific compilation of the forty-two trades consummated by Jack Z.
A large enough body of work to draw some conclusions. One great trade, a few fair trades, many irrelevant and too many really bad trades.
The trick to a good trade is to be able to effectively develop and deploy the assets received or flip them for something more useful. In that way even a sketchy trade can sometimes work out.
It is interesting to note (at least to me) that of all the talent received in trade only 16 players remain in the M's organization (not counting the recently DFA'd Eric Thames). What value did we receive for all the pieces we've relinquished? Far too often it has been little or nothing.
