Pleading for Pleasurable Possibilities

First thing's first - I've never attempted typing one of these up before; therefore, keeping this short to minimize the chances of screwing it up is my number 2 goal. Number 1 goal is getting possible answers to my overall query. I must ask some of you to clean up your thoughts before we continue, as there are only so many words that start with 'P' in my vocabulary and I fear some may have clicked on this with false hopes. For everyone else, onward!

My situation stands as this - being 27, from Idaho and a Mariner fan, my vacations westward instinctively narrow in the direction of Safeco Field during baseball season. However, this next jaunt will feature two people who are not me, along with me who is me, but neither of them know or understand my love of the Mariners or baseball in general (British folk, so uncivilized). In exchange for me forcing them to attend a ball game, I am tasked with finding other Seattle activities they may partake in, preferably of the non-soul-sucking variety. Further stipulations include but are not limited to: family friendly (avoiding awkward father-in-law moments); heart of Seattle area (minimizing driving when possible); not very expensive (relative term, I realize).

As I'm not familiar with much of Seattle outside of Safeco and Gameworks (been years since I was there), are there areas the LookoutLanding populace is fond of and would be willing to recommend? Sites of attraction that aren't well known? Old school pub that isn't entirely American-ified that two Brits would find homely? Do Brits find pubs homely? Is your mind still in the gutter due to skipping step 1? Any responses or ideas will be much appreciated and seen as a sign you are accepting me into your clan. May this integration process go smoothly.

As we are all linked by our inescapable yet oftentimes unfortunate admiration to our beloved Mariners, I hope any ideas tossed about here will also aid others in planning their tour guide-less forays into Emeraldness.

For what it's worth, I'm hoping to attend the Monday night game on June 10 vs. the Astros, because I've already seen the M's lose to the Yankees in person and it'd be neat to see them beat up on a weaker team lose to someone different.

Thanks!
