Spring Forward, Off Topic

The last OT was getting boggy, so here's a brand new empty one, with SBN's shiny new commenting functionality, including mobile recs, mobile z'ing, and a complete inability to shift-tab from comment body to comment header. Whoops.

It's almost spring - tomorrow, don't forget to set your clocks forward an hour. Unless, of course, you live in Arizona or Hawaii, where they have sense (in Arizona's case, that's about all the sense they have) and don't muck with the clock twice a year.

I fully understand why DST was a thing, both when the US was primarily an agrarian economy and during wartime, but neither of those conditions exist any more. I would really prefer it if the US chose one - I don't even care which one! - and stuck with it year-round.

What else? It's almost tournament time, for those of you NCAA-inclined; I haven't done a bracket in years but I do love watching the tournament. Speaking of tournaments, anybody paying attention to the WBC? I watched a bit of a couple games yesterday, which is awesome as I love watching baseball, but I can't say I care about the "tournament" aspect of it. There's no urgency to it, there's nothing really at stake, so it's basically just fun. Which is awesome, because that's what sports is supposed to be.

Also, if you're Portland or SW Washington based and you like beer, go get a ticket for your glass of Pliny the Younger.

Anybody got any exciting plans for the weekend? I'm having the spring on my garage door replaced. Was going to do it myself, but there exists a chance of death or dismemberment from doing that, so I'll pay a dude to do it.
