I have been making streamgraphs of the offensive production of each MLB team during the 2012 season.
Here is the 2012 Mariners Streamgraph.
The layers of the chart represent individual players offensive contributions on a particular date, and are averaged over 10 games to smooth out some of the game to game volatility. A taller layer means the player contributed more offensively than a shorter layer, and the height of all of the layers represents the production of the entire team.
Personally, I think it is an interesting look at the ebbs and flows of a season, and the changes, either for the better or worse, in the lineup.
