So, an Off Topic Sunday Festivus Eve thread. Some random holiday related prompts:
What are your favorite Christmas movies? There's a big push this year for Die Hard and Love Actually to be included on these lists. In fact, the Love Actually people are quite militant and have started waging war with the Die Hard people. This war is more about "What actually is a Christmas movie?" rather than "Die Hard Sucks", because what the hell, no it doesn't, but it's still somewhat entertaining. How about a slightly over-looked, decent one from last year, Rise of the Guardians? Another great one I've seen mentioned by one film critic recently that falls under the nontraditional Die Hard category, but Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Or pretty much anything else by Shane Black.
How about any favorite holiday recipes? Stuffing or latkes or whatever the hell you eat at Kwanzaa, to include drinks such as mulled wine or hot-buttered rum (Hint hint, please provide me with these drink recipes). How is your Winter beering going?
I'll be working for the 7th out of the last 10 Christmases, and I have to tell you, it's really not that bad. Anybody else joining me for a nice quiet day in the office? I don't even mean this in an anti-Christmas way either, as my family usually just moves some things around and we still do all the traditional stuff. But damn is it nice to have 90% of an organization on vacation and away from the office.
