While we're still dwelling on yesterday, here's Felix allowing a home run to Edwin Encarnacion on a 1-and-2 changeup down and in. I'm not gonna lie, it makes me feel a little better that Encarnacion didn't go deep on a mistake. Said John Jaso: "That was a decent pitch," he said of the 1-2 changeup. "He just hit it a mile. Tip your cap. He did a good job with that, and he's done it 40 times this year." Felix could've buried the changeup a little more than he did, but the pitch was fine, and Encarnacion is a 40-homer hitter for a reason. If Felix gets hit because he made a mistake, he made a mistake. If Felix gets hit without having made a mistake, he didn't make a mistake, and it's not like we have reason to believe that Felix is suddenly super hittable. Sometimes good hitters do cruel things to good pitches.
