Nothing super deep here, just a statistical observation.
Kyle Seager, slash line when the count has less than 2 strikes: 291/350/484, 834 OPS
Dustin Ackley, slash line when the count has less than 2 strikes: 319/411/480 891 OPS
Kyle Seager, slash line with 2 strikes: 198/268/316, 584 OPS
Dustin Ackley, slash line with 2 strikes: 138/189/201, 390 OPS
I think in most people's eyes, Seager has been a pleasant surprise and has come close to solidifying himself as part of the Mariners' future. Ackley has been a huge letdown and people are seeing shades of Jeff Clement and Michael Saunders. The numbers above show something interesting. I don't really know what, except to say that Ackley is clearly doing something very wrong with 2 strikes.
