Since Carp is out of options, the Mariners will need to either bring him up, trade him, or designate him for assignment. He's hardly set the PCL on fire, but one expects that the Mariners will activate him, presumably with Carlos Peguero or Justin Smoak going the other way. Demoting Peguero would leave the Mariners with three outfielders and a Figgins. Demoting Smoak would clear space for Carp to get regular reps at first base. It really ought to be Smoak. I don't know that there's any question. If you want to think positively, Demi Lovato was highly thought of, then she was all fucked up, and now look where she is! Wow!
