I recall speculation following the Montero-Pineda deal that he was one of the handful of young sluggers that Z said he was targeting. He's got a proven track record of MLB success (31 dingers at the age of 21) and the type of power that even Safeco couldn't kill. He's under team control through 2017. He plays right field and if there is a God we won't have a starting right fielder next year. The Marlins will (reportedly) listen on him and have proven that they're throwing caution to the wind and go all-in in the next couple years. Yelich is on the way up for them and highly thought of. We'd likely never have to face him as he'd be in the NL on the other side of the country.

Sorry if I'm breaking rosterbation rules, but you have to admit it makes sense on some levels and beats the hell out of rolling the dice on prospects.
