It's far too small of a sample to have significance yet or warrant strong emotions about, but poking around earlier this morning I started looking some more at Jesus Montero and specifically his hitting numbers.
| Pos | PA | K | BB | AVG | OBP | SLG | sOPS+ |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| As C | 72 | 10 | 5 | .364 | .403 | .652 | 190 |
| As DH | 84 | 26 | 3 | .177 | .202 | .241 | 16 |
sOPS+ is OPS+ relative to the position.
It's probably just a fluke. I think it's going to end up being just a fluke. But feel free to add this to your list of reasons to hope Jesus Montero continues to get starts at catcher after Miguel Olivo comes back.
