Mike Cameron wins it in the 19th
A highlight that doesn't seem nearly as old as it is. Interestingly, Cameron entered as a pinch-runner for John Olerud in the 11th. He stole second base, then got doubled off on a line drive double play hit into by David Bell. The M's were that close to this homer never happening.

I like the Moose in pajamas.
Also, time of game per Baseball-Reference: 5:34. Cameron’s shot was at 12:39am. Christ.

And didn’t Cammy hit another one that was a few feet from clearing the right field foul pole in that same at-bat?
And haha fuck you bosox.
I think the pitch before.
I was at this game too, still one of my favorite Mariner memories. I mentioned in another thread last week, but we were in the center field bleachers and toughed it out for the whole game.
Pretty sad that there was better attendance after six hours then compared to the start of a game now.
I love the super extra long games...
particularly during the weekdays when everyone else has to go home and there are just a couple thousand of us left (I work for myself). Best games to go to by far.
The downside of watching from home.
When this happened I had to contain myself and do this breathy whisper/shout hybrid as to not wake my neighbors. Many-a-fist were pumped that evening as compensation (sort of like this, only less athletic…and lacking personal achievement).
That was kind of an awkward swing.
I really liked Cammy.
Oh, Dave...
We miss those calls.

I was listening to Dave over the Intewebs
Back before MLB eated local web broadcasts. In fact, I think recovered radio waves from Alpha Centauri will record that right before Cameron nailed it, Dave said something like, “incredibly, there are 3,500 people listening to this game over the World Wide Web.”
