PrintFor those of you that are new, one of the rules we have here at LL is that nobody cares about your fantasy teams. We don't discuss them. But that one exception to the rule is this yearly post. Talk about your leagues, teams, players, trades, drafts, ect.
Get it out of your system.
Also for those of you that are unaware, I've been running one of the "official" LL leagues since about 2006(the league actually started in 2004 with a bunch of friends, but I digress). At the moment I am inviting back everybody that participated from last year, which is a first. So if you were in that league, check your email. So for the moment, I have no openings, but I will post a comment if somebody drops out.
For the rest of you, there are always some excellent leagues that pop up in this thread each year, so check those out.

I would like to point out that Wedge's Eye Fetish was one victory away from taking both leagues.
I’ve been waiting a whole offseason for this thread to brag about that!
Worry not LL2, I will be sticking solely to Goose’s league this year.
I took over in a dynasty league for a guy running the Mariners.
It’s a new league, so they are mostly the Mariners, but the previous GM had enough time to make a couple of moves: He traded for Alex Rodriguez and signed Yuniesky Betancourt. Clearly wasn’t a Mariners fan!

If I were to start a league, what website do you all mostly use?
Hey, please post the league name if you do start one up.
Can you specify the scoring system in Yahoo? Are you leaning toward linear weights or something else? In any event, I’m interested. Cheers.

Thanks for being the commish over the last 6 years. I have really enjoyed the league and love how hard a 20 team league is, however I am turning in my spot, I am consolidating into only one league this year. My team was ReplcmentLevelTalent and please whoever takes my spot win it for me.
I just emailed everyone in the LL League Too.
The new password is kingfelix. I didn’t put a deadline in, but if I don’t hear anything in 10 days, I’ll open it up. Should we expand from 12 teams?

Who won't you draft, for rooting concerns?
A couple years ago, I rode on of A-Rod’s goods seasons to victory, but felt terrible. I’ll probably feel the same way having Pujols in a keeper league. Still, I’m not sure if any players will go on the do not draft list due to their team or their behavior. Except Luke Scott.

I think you should expand to 20 teams - and use Goose's position settings.

Once we get everybody in, we can start discussing the settings and stats and what not.
But for the moment, I’ve just imported last years settings(I think they’ve been unchanged for 3 years now).
For anybody thinking of using our settings, it’s a 20 team H2H daily league.
Positions: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, RF, Util, SP, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, P, P, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL, DL
Batting Stats:Runs®, Hits (H), Home Runs (HR), Runs Batted In (RBI), Batting Average (AVG), On-base Percentage (OBP), Slugging Percentage (SLG), Net Stolen Bases (NSB)
Pitching Stats:Innings Pitched (IP), Wins (W), Saves (SV), Strikeouts (K), Earned Run Average (ERA), Strikeouts per Walk Ratio (K/BB), Strikeouts per Nine Innings (K/9), On-base Percentage Against (OBPA)

I think Holds are stupid. I barely accept Saves as a stat that should be included.

Actually, what do you guys think of getting rid of saves? We already have all those rate stats for pitching that should give value to closers.

I like innings pitched
Otherwise its too easy to just use relief pitching which gives you good ERA, K/BB, K/9 and OBPA (and sometimes strikeouts). IP balances it out a little and gives some reason to play SP.
Even as it is right now, unless you have great SP its possible to just punt SP and stream RP and RP who qualify as SP to do pretty well in the pitching stats….shouldn’t give my strategies away….

As my summer got busy with work I barely participated (not out of lack of interest but time constraints). And I’m not very good at drafting but it was fun. I was in both Goose’s and yuniform’s last year but I have to make sure that email is still intact. Woo!

Goose do you mind outlining your setup.
I’ve never played fantasy Baseball, but with a good outline I’d be happy set up and run a “Second” LL league.
The only fantasy stuff I do is for Aussie Rules Football.
Mostly because I get grief from my friends if I don’t, and they need someone who sucks to laugh at.
It can be kinda fun at times though, and one of my better friends helps make sure I don’t start with a bunch of duds.

…but are there openings, how many leagues are there and are these snake drafts or auction drafts?
I would be open to starting up a league for those interested.
I normally do snake drafts H2H, if you are interested let me know, I would also consider doing other types of leagues as well.

Don’t know if this filled up or not.
Would be kind of cool to do what Field Gulls did and have a bunch of LL leagues with the same settings, but I could see that not working as well on here – since there ain’t much fantasy chatting going on, as it were.
Anyway – i’m down/up for joining this type of league.
If anyone wants to play a money league, I'll host.
Basics would be $20, 12-16 teams, yahoo, and some slightly non-standard 5×5 or 6×6 (obp replacing avg, etc… nothing crazy).
I like adding positional flexibility so it would be be any IF instead of 1B, MI instead of 2B, etc…
I or someone trusted can escrow.
If you have interest, reply to this and I’ll put more effort into coming up with a complete set of rules and payouts. I’m up for auction or snake, interested people can vote.

…but it’d depend on when you’d have the draft. I’ll be blogging Spring Koshien as usual and that starts March 20th.
Oh, and I’m up for either drafting process, but would prefer auction.

It seems like the other leagues are filling up, but not much activity about this one.

I am down to create a league
12 team mixed auction or live draft. Roto with R,RBI, HR, SB, BA, W, ERA, WHIP, K, SV. Positions are C,C,1B,2B,3B,SS, CIF, MIF,5 OF, UTIL and 9 pitcher spots. No Bench with 2 DL spots
I've only played one year of fantasy baseball so I may not be qualified to speak on this
But no bench is a little harsh, no? Especially with that many positions to cover?
