Giancarlo Stanton and the Valuing of Prospects

Having categorically denied that Giancarlo Stanton was not available, despite his pleas for a trade in the wake of the Blue Jays blockbuster, the Marlins are now "willing to listen" on offers for the slugging OFer. Stanton would immediately make a huge impact and has the kind of power that could easily deal with the atmospheric eccentricities of Safeco.

Of course, trading for a 23 year old who led the league in slugging and is under team control until the end of the Obama administration isn't going to be cheap. Stanton is a known product, and that product, mainly his prestigious power, is incredibly valuable in a league where offense is down. So, Stanton is going to be costly in terms of prospects. The question I put to you, reader, is what is the most you would be willing to part with in order to obtain Stanton's services? How much do you value Stanton's services in comparison to the possible value that the Mariners' highly-vaunted prospects will bring down the line?
