This is the fifth part of the ongoing thread for all 2012-2013 offseason roster discussion. It's an all-purpose thread for consolidating Mariners rumors and baseball offseason discussion that doesn't fit in other threads. If you find a rumor on Twitter or some other site and it hasn't yet received its own post from Jeff or Matthew, this is the place to discuss it.

Please try to avoid rosterbation in here. Discussing targets is fine, but arguments over trade proposals tend to fill the threads up really fast. It's more acceptable in this thread than elsewhere, but understand that the faster you fill up this thread the faster we will need a new one, and these threads are starting to fill up the Recent FanPosts box. We want to try to make this one last even longer than the last one.

Welp, the Mariners didn't get Josh Hamilton because GRRR ARGH ANGELS. The blogosphere is divided over this. Would you have been happy had the Mariners signed Hamilton to the reported 4/100 with 2 performance incentive years?

The Mariners have been linked to a bunch of mid-rotation pitchers like Derek Holland, Chris Capuano, Aaron Harang, and Shaun Marcum but seem to be staying away from the big targets. Who would you like the Mariners to go after to replace Beavan? Edwin Jackson? Erik Bedard? Perhaps Rick Porcello?

This next week is going to be the Maybe Not Future Mariner Nick Swisher Tour, as he's reportedly going to be flying around the country trying to drum up a market. If he doesn't come to Seattle I'll be a little sad and a lot confused. What do you think Swisher is eventually going to sign for? Where? What would you be willing to pay him? Or are you the one Mariners fan who prefers Michael Bourn?
