OT 11/7/12 - "Ready for my close-up!" Movies, Television, and More!

Despite the fact that OT posts move much slower these days, it's always nice to have a place to come to where you know the community and can discuss certain topics, get different opinions, and helpful advice. Hence, a new OT post!

As a movie guy, this is what I know and so this is what I prompt. So here are some movie prompts:

What have you seen recently and what did you think? Tops at the box office currently: Wreck-It Ralph, Flight, Argo, Man With the Iron Fists(?), Taken 2, Cloud Atlas.

I have seen Argo, and I thought it was pretty good. Ben Affleck is off to a nice start in his directing career. That Cloud Atlas sure did bomb... for an "epic" the previews actually looked pretty boring, I thought.

About to knock Ralph off his perch: Skyfall. I have only seen a few Bond movies, but with all of them on Netflix, I think I'm going to start with Dr. No and keep going. Any thoughts for a person without much Bond experience pre-Brosnan?

Other movies coming out:

November

Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, Anna Karenina, Red Dawn, Rise of the Guardians, Lincoln, Life of Pi, Hitchcock, Killing Them Softly, Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning (Yep, they are in it.)

Killing Them Softly looks great and is already 97% fresh.

December

Hyde Park on Hudson, The Hobbit, Monsters, Inc. 3D (same movie, just 3D), The Guilt Trip, This is 40, Zero Dark Thirty, Jack Reacher, Django Unchained, Les Miserables, Promised Land

January

Texas Chainsaw 3D (New movie!), Gangster Squad, Last Stand (Arnold), Broken City, Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters.

Other random 2013 movies:

Man of Steel, Oz, Star Trek 2, RIPD, Monsters University, Iron Man 3, Pacific Rim

What movies are you most looking forward to? What are you really worried about?

TV:

I just caught up with the entire 3rd season of Boardwalk Empire on Saturday. No spoilers but I think they're doing well even beyond that major thing from the end of season 2. The acting in this show might be second to none.

Dexter... is it save-able? Is this season a good season, to you?

Homeland - I'm not sure any show has more shit happen than Homeland and that's why I love it.

The Walking Dead post-Darabont... I think this season might actually be it's best so far. I love Darabont, but I have to say that.

Other TV thoughts?

And of course... other thoughts about anything! Have you guys ever tried beer? It's kinda messed up.
