I can sort of see removing it for wOBA - stealing bases or getting caught is something you're doing after you're on base, and to oversimplify, OBA-ness is all about the act of how one gets on base in the first place.
But the ripple effect is to remove baserunning from wRC+, which slightly reduces its effectiveness as shorthand for overall contribution of a player. Doesn't successful base stealing create runs? Doesn't being ass at it, have you creating less runs? Or, conversely, does the overall ability to steal bases have so little effect on wRC+ that it's harmless to remove - in which case, are speedy baserunners / speedy-and-or-smart base stealers, a bit overvalued and this is just correcting wRC+ accordingly?
I'm not seeing how to compare before and after, so I don't know if revised evaluations of a player "feel" more or less right after quantifying base stealing separately.
