This is a timebomb, ticking away and waiting for Fielder’s inevitable decline.
The Tigers will rue this deal in years 6-9, if not before.
Buuuuuut...
doesn’t that mean they’re gonna absolutely love it in years 1-5 or whatever?

I'm not as relieved as I thought I would be when this was over.
I definitely am glad we didn’t sign Prince Fielder to a 9 year,$ 214 million contract, but on the other hand, we’re at like $15 million less than last year on payroll and there’s not really anything left this off-season. It’s time for the Jack-Z-Move-No-One-Sees-Coming, but its hard to hope for something you can’t see coming.
Saving it for next offseason?
Anyone juicy coming on the market in 2013? Can’t be anyone as juicy as this year, can it?
