Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

I have been following LL for 4 or 5 years now. I found you guys, along with USSM, while I was down at college in LA struggling for Mariners coverage. I had never really been opened to advanced sabermetrics/Bill James-ish research. As a civil engineering student, former baseball player and borderline obsessive M's fan, the study of the numbers behind the game immediately piqued my interest in these two sites. I've never commented much (old screen name, CheapbeersatNorms, was a casualty to a forgotten password and cancelled Hotmail account) and have never had anything important or researched enough to post, but I read the attached article this morning and felt compelled to write this note.
I've continued to come to LL multiple times throughout the day not only because my job is extremely boring, but the frequent articles and posts are very much un-biased, well researched and interesting. Al Yellon's article, and generally most of his writing, blatantly contrasts this culture. I just wanted to take the time this afternoon to say "Thank you" to all the contributors and moderators who keep this site balanced, intelligent and thought-provoking. Sometimes, it takes an article like this to realize just how bad it could be. Thanks, LL.

Just wondering how that Civil Enginnerring is going?

I am in a Mechanical Engineering course now and those trusses aren’t making life enjoyable.

It'd be great, if I had a civil engineering job!

Currently, I’m making do at an inside sales position, sizing and quoting industrial valves. I am looking for something in engineering to start accruing time towards my PE license eligibility, and more importantly, that I would enjoy more. Graduating in 2009 really didn’t help me out.

Wholeheartedly agree.

Yellon makes SB Nation look bad. They really don’t need him mucking up the place.

I think it says something when fans of teams that have nothing to do with the Cubs also hate his writing.

Completely takes away his “You don’t like me because I write about the Cubs!” bullshit.

"Many people need desperately to receive this message: 'I feel and think much as you do, care about many of the things you care about, although most people do not care about them. You are not alone.'"

You can say that again: Yellon makes SB Nation look bad.

Yellon really drags the level down, while writers like Grant Brisbee and our Jeff try their best to make it an appealing site to come to.

I wish the article ads on the right hand side, made it clear which ones were written by him, so I could avoid clicking on them. Bad experience.
