Boy, the timing bit you on that one . . .
At least it’s a one-for-one swap in the top 5, though.

He would actually be third for me
I think that speaks to how much I like Hultzen and Walker rather than negatively on Montero. I believe that Montero is going to hit, but it’s also going to come at DH (perhaps 1B but he has never played the position so it’s hard to regard him as one). That puts pressure on his bat to be as good as everyone hopes it will be.
I prefer the Yankees side of this deal, but it doesn’t mean I dislike it for the Mariners. Pitching is the organizational strength, and shifting resources to the area where you’re deficient makes all the sense in the world.
3rd for me as well.
Not that it means a whole lot, since I’m about as big a fan of Walker & Hultzen as you’ll find (excusing Jeff, of course!).
I actually have Paxton fairly close to Montero, as well… but I’m also a big Paxton fan. I’d take Montero but I could make an argument the other way. I don’t want to spoil my top 100 rankings, but all 4 guys will almost certainly be in the top 30 overall for me. Walker and Hultzen are both higher than 15th.
