This does seem to be a growing sentiment about the boy, doesn't it?
Fans are typically idiots.

I'd wager that 10-second video does not encapsulate the entirety of the interactions
between Harper and the home plate ump before that pitch. So probably not “nothing”
Yikes
I thought “Slamming his helmet in disgust” would be enough to make it clear the “nothing” was sarcastic. Obviously there’s more context than this video shows, but it definitely shows enough to warrant ejecting him.
It didn't read like sarcasm to me, sorry.
It read like “can’t believe [only] slamming …” but I’ve been seen people (naturally) taking the other side to Harper as vocalizations about his immaturity become more common.
Sarcasm is hard to communicate over the internet
If it fails to come across, that’s on the writer, not the reader. No apology necessary on your end, this one’s on me.
My bad.
Umm...what!?
He turns around and slams his helmet. “For nothing,” my ass.
I fucking hate you Mariners
Late. So ef off.
I fucking hate you Mariners

Yeah, that's not for nothing.
You can’t disrespect an umpire. I’d be willing to believe Harper used some industrial language as well, which is a big no-no.
Well, you can't argue balls and strikes.
Harper slams his helmet and stare angrily at the umpire soooooooo……
(Not helping matters is Harper’s apparent bid to become Milton Bradley 2)
I dunno about milton bradley....
Seems more like a carl everett move…. Incidentally, does that mean he will at one point on the downside of his career, if he ever even makes it, that he will be a mediocre outfielder/dh for the mariners in 10 years or so?

I think he was joking...
It’s called Sarcasm.
Sarcasm should have a purpose.
Being sarcastic for the sake of being sarcastic when there is no obvious reason to believe you mean something else and isn’t otherwise a joke isn’t a good use of sarcasm.
...and now I'm here
He's only 18. Teenagers can be incredibly stupid.
Sorry teens, but when you get to your 20’s you’ll agree with me. Dear god was I stupid.
That said, he’s still carrying on like a spoiled (spoilt?) brat. Hopefully he’ll grow out of that in time but if now, as ThundaPC says, I look forward to the second coming of Milton Bradley!
