Fucking Doug Fister.
Pitch better.

That one game was lost because our offense is terrible.

There's various ways of looking at it.
But there could have been a chance, that we ended up scoring in the tenth.
There is also a chance Maybin hits a home run on the next pitch he sees if he didn't "walk."
Playing these “what if” games is pointless. Let’s just move on.

Wow I didn't catch the game by box score was exactly as I though it'd be:
Top 5 in the order; 5 hits, all RBIs and Runs scored
Bottom 4; 7 strikeouts

Anyone know
where I can find updated WAR stats?
Alright game to be at. Crowd was packed.
All the casual fans had no idea who the pitcher was, glad to be there for his 1st Major League start and victory.
If you're a fan of basketball, watch a movie called Sonicsgate. It's free, just google it.
2011 Vancouver Canucks - The closest feeling to winning I've ever had.
I understand.
i laugh when i’m at games and casual fans make ignorant remarks about the team or players, when they clearly don’t know what they are talking about. I went to the braves game last week and when Felix had given up a couple hits in a row (we were down 4-0) this older lady behind me says," uggg this pitcher is horrible". I wanted to go today, just to see Beavan. I’m just glad we didn’t lose a series to the one team that is just as bad offensively as we are.

One Braves fan behind me thought Felix didn't care
Because he didn’t button his shirt all the way up.

Somebody at one of the Marlins games turned around and said "I don't get this King's Court". I had to explain to him that the pitcher on the mound for the M's was indeed "King" Felix.
It's going to take me a while to learn "Beven" I've been saying it like Beaver over a year now.

We're like Norman Schwarzkopf
Quick in, quick out then early retirement
Carp's back home
Home Run in the first for Tacoma. If only we could think of a team that could use power like that in the majors…
AAAA is A-ok with me.
Carp’s at least one A better than any of our other LF options right now…
Well I don't think he's got the talent to hit big league pitching with any power or consistency.
And he did nothing to dissuade that. Even despite Peguero’s more glaring faults, I can at least see that he’s got big league power.
He didn't do anything bad either.
Smacked a ton of line drives and showed plate discipline. Also, 42 plate appearances. 42!
I know it's a super small sample size, but in watching them I didn't see anything that made me think, "oh he's got potential to be an everyday regular."
At least Peguero flashes one clear big league ready talent (power) even if the rest of the skillset lacks.
Piguero is awful and I hope he goes down soon. His at bats are horrific.
I would rather see Carp play than Peguero. Did you see the stuff he swung at today?

Power doesn't help much without plate discipline
Swing% happens to be one thing that stabilizes quickly, so it’s one of the few things that we can fairly use in comparison with Carp (at the MLB level, anyway). Carp swings at 29% of pitches outside the zone, which isn’t great but puts him right next to Kennedy on these Mariners (and in the company of guys like Shane Victorino, Nelson Cruz, and Matt Kemp league-wide). In contrast, Peguero swings at 48% of pitches out of the zone. That’s…that’s just terrible You know there are only four guys on the Mariners who swing at more out-of-zone pitches? They are Michael Pineda, Doug Fister, Felix Hernandez, and Jason Vargas. Carlos Peguero basically has the plate discipline of an American League pitcher.

I agree with your point.
But it’s useful to remember that the “zone” is subjective from game to game. To be clear, everything I’ve seen and read tells me Carp is more deserving right now of a major league position than Peggy.
Teams (for foreign blogs): Seahawks, Mariners, Huskies and Broncos. Yes, I recognize the contradiction; I was born in Denver.

Yeah, yet somehow other batters are able to adjust and stay fairly consistent with it
I don’t think those changes affect Peguero at all, he has no idea of the strike zone regardless of if it’s a couple inches bigger or smaller day to day

Rangers lose but the Angels win.
So they are both tied for first. We are 2.5 back. Not bad for July 3rd. Wish we could get a bat, though.
2.5!
Let’s make it 1.5-1 by the end of next week! The A’s aren’t very good and maybe we can take a split from the Angels
Beavan was our first pitcher since 1993 to go 7+ innings in his debut.
