Adam Moore to the 60 day D/L as expected, but Gimenez up instead of Josh Bard. No all-lefty lineup >:(

Not a great hitter, so
Why didn’t Cleveland make Gimenez a full time catcher long ago? Did they thinkn his future was as a utility player who plays everywhere? Or is he maybe not such a great fielder behind the plate?
Odd choice. Must be a Wedge thing...
Not that Bard is amazing, but at least there was a time when he could hit.

I imagine he carries a pair of prop bushy angry eyebrows which he slaps on when necessary

They're battery operated
And emerge from further up in his hair, kind of like the way Iron Man’s mask deploys.

Well, I guess we now have a 5th option in the outfield.
Other than that, I’d rather have Bard.

Seems super weird
Wedge said, it was “unspeakable” according to Drayer.
Why not Bard?
Last time he played against Cleveland didn’t he hit a grand slam. At least we know Bard can hit sometimes. Gimenez looks like Rob Johnson 2.0.

The last season that Bard was useful offensively was 2007.
Gimenez is younger, has done better with the bat in the last few years, passed Eric Wedge’s “eye test” during spring training, and is able to cover 5 positions (catcher, both corner outfield spots, and both corner infield spots) on a short 4 man bench. He may end up being Rob Johnson 2.0 at catcher but we know we don’t have a ML catcher in Bard. Let’s see what we have in Gimenez.
