1995 Highlights

I haven't seen this posted here yet, and when I've looked for these highlights in the past, I haven't seen them. If this has been posted, I would ask the mods to kindly delete this post.

After the 1995 season, Eagle Hardware put out a highlight video of the season, and these clips are from it. It is awesome because:

1) The events in the video are awesome.
2) The editor made frequent use of secondary camera views, for example, the camera that is pointed straight at the M's dugout during Sojo's inside the park "Grand Slam."
3) Dave Niehaus.

Me too!

I digitalized it so I could put it on my ipod and have some MyOhMy wherever I went. Also have a still plastic wrapped copy that I found in pike place a few years ago for like 3 bucks.

I played this tape so much growing up...

that when I tried to watch it a few years ago (after the dismal 2008 season), it had a “warble” sound! I remember they had another video they came out with the next season too for all the offensive records they set and such, but this was the only video I watched over and over.

Also, I remember having a walkman on in class...

and listening to the first couple innings during school. I remember pumping my fist when Tino made that catch because of Dave’s call and the teacher shot me a glance. Luckily the way I was seated and hiding the earbud headphone cord under my sleeve made it hard for her to tell I was listening to the game.

God I miss offense!

And I even miss the Kingdome. Those 3 games (and game 1 against Cleveland) were the best sports experience I’ve ever had in my life. I’m so glad my dad decided to max his credit card and buy those tickets!

My favorite part of this...

has always been the part at 1:13, when they show the alternate angle of the Sojo hit. Its tough to tell on this version, because its a little blurry, but so much funny stuff happens.

Randy Johnson literally doesn’t move the whole time. He doesn’t get excited, he just sits and chills.

Griffey waiving everyone around and telling them to slide. Cora doing the same.

Watching the ball get by the Angel’s catcher and having look back, expecting Langston to be backing him up and realizing nobody is there.

Alex Rodriguez.
