Hey folks,
I rarely comment on here, but the need for me to share my thoughts has led to my first fanpost. Please be gentle.
Since the offseason began, the usual flood of armchair GM's have decided to voice their own rosterbation ideas, leading to various trade proposals(mostly ridiculous) usually involving their team fleecing their counterpart. I find these proposals to be maddening. You find them maddening. I'm sure Jeff and Matthew find them maddening. So I suggest we try to find a way to manage fan bias: Trade proposals consisting only of players on the same team.
For instance, how highly do we value Felix Hernandez? Though this is clearly an imaginary scenario, who from the Mariners organization would you trade for him? Would something along the lines of Pineda and Ackley be fair? Too much?
Keep in mind that these trade proposals obvously should not be focused on team need, but should be used as an exercise to demonstrate how we value our players.
I'm not suggesting anything groundbreaking, I just think the concept is fun to think about.
