Mariners gunning for Fielder?
"Fielder, meanwhile, has been pursued by a group believed to include the Cubs, Nationals, Rangers and Mariners. Boras declined to say which teams have offered Fielder a contract..."
Those are, uh, not the teams I would have guessed. Perhaps there are more that went unmentioned? I hope the Mariners don't bite, but I hope even more that the Rangers don't land him.

Well, Heyman had already mentioned the Mariners were hoping to be in on Fielder.

This makes it seem like they're in the final four, though.

Cubs primary color is blue. Which makes his statement weird.

I'm not sure.
Maybe he’s a secret Nationals fan.

A few more Jaso-like trades and Fielder may be more useful!
...and now I'm here
Given that the Rangers have already publicly said they won't sign Fielder
I have to wonder a little about the veracity of this report.

Boras is kind of a master at creating a feeding frenzy for high profile free agents.
I’d take the teams named with a grain of salt. The Mariners might have pursued Fielder until they heard the dollars it would take to get him. The Rangers might also have made a call and lost interest leading to their statement that they were not in the running. Besides, until Heyman starts tweeting about a “mystery team” odds are good Fielder isn’t close to signing.
No matter where you go, there you are.
Well, I'm sure the Mariners were smart enough to know the potential market before being 'interested'
This is not going to be like a Jayson Werth situation, where the $$$ comes out of left field, so to speak.

"Gunning" is probably putting it too strongly.
Greg Johns talks to Zduriencik
Obviously Z isn’t going to tell everyone the team’s progress regarding Prince Fielder, but I have a feeling the club is taking a cautionary approach to attempt to land Fielder. If another team wants to meet his demands then they can pretty much have him.
Shit yeah
about time we socked some fuckin dingers
