Be you warned, for here there be .gif(s)
(A)
(B)
Fun fact: today, and for most of the season, these two cats played next to one another.

I'm conflicted because while the spike in B was worse, he at least had a somewhat more valid excuse for it

Mine too.
I ended up going with B, because I have expectations that Victorino takes more pride in his defence than Raul.

The fall makes B look a lot worse,
but it also looks like he was able to recover the ball much more quickly.
I went with A.
Looks like something I might do at a dog park. The more a play by a professional baseball player reminds me of something I might do the worse it must be.
Funny you should mention the dog park...
cause I did B in a dog park once and rolled in crap.
A is a routine play
B is not

A is worse to me
Victorino’s back foot slips a little while he planted and tried to hurry his throw at the same time. Bad play for sure, but I can’t knock him for losing his footing. It happens.
Raul calmly straightened up, set his feet, and still somehow botched his throw.
B is a far more embarrassing highlight reel, but A should have never happened.
I think it's got to be B
just because the player in B is a gigantic douche.
Chamption of the R.A. Dickey Face contest and "Cromulent Photoshopper Extraordinaire" of Amazin' Avenue!
You might know me as mistermet.
I like that I knew exactly what two GIFs were coming when I clicked on the headline.
A is worse because the throw isn’t influenced by falling down. B is funnier.
I disagree.
I voted B precisely because A is just plain funny looking.
I would say A is worse of these two
but have you seen the other Victorino spud from earlier this year?
Where he’s running in to scoop a base hit, faceplants and spikes the ball in front of him.
That is easily one of the funnier things i’ve ever seen

Don't say that here. It's stupid Internet speak. Just rec the damn comment.

Eyebrows' comment was an actual suggestion

Yeah, pretty much
for a “what is a worse error” poll, context definitely has a place

B because once he started to fall he should've stopped throwing.
But I hated myself for voting for it, since A is too damned funny.

I literally just had the same reaction.
I voted B, but haven’t been able to stop laughing at A for a while.
B is worse, because it is a series of mistakes, each compounding the previous.
A is hilarious, because it just comes out of nowhere. He takes a crowhop, gets a grip on the ball, then fires it straight at a blade of grass 20 feet away.
B is worse, if I understand the sense of “worse” you’re going for here, because Victorino is compelled to attempt a throw after falling over his own feet. This throw goes backwards somehow, so he makes the casual jog of shame to pick up the ball, the progeny of the unholy union of “I tripped on my own ding-dang feet” and “I meant to throw it th’other way.”
If Raul had run after the ball and then collided with a teammate trying to field his mistake, THAT would bring it up to B’s level. It’s still one of the funniest GIFs I’ve seen though.
Victorino's throw goes backwards!
That’s the key to me. A is bad (and I agree the relatively routine set-up might make it more embarrassing), but at least the ball goes in the general direction it’s supposed to, it just only gets a fraction of the distance, like a topped golf drive. Although the reason for the mis-throw is more understandable in B the fact that the ball ends up actually going behind him is what compelled me to choose it.
Playing while drunk
Isn’t there a fine for that?
Though it does up the old entertainment value, no denying.
I voted for B because it made me laugh harder.
But I do agree that A is probably a worse thing for a player to do. That really is embarassing. But watching B play over and over, it just got more hilarious every time.
I think the one perfectstrat posted is probably the best of both worlds… fields the ball cleanly and looks ready to complete the play, but also has the hilarity factor of watching someone try to throw a baseball while eating turf.
I voted for B.
At least Raul remained upright and the ball went in the general direction it was supposed to.
