Exam Monday, I should be studying.
Instead I am reading while I listen to radio and look at Gameday. This is a good idea!
Wind! Oh dear Lord how will this effect each team?

My in depth research on this tells me it may or may not cause a team to win or lose a game or games.

Mariners Mention!
Indirectly

There was a shout-out for Ichiro there by one of the announcers.
And now…Adrian Beltre!

Most of those guys out there hate it!
That’s why you see everyone grimacing in the dugout, with their arms folded, looking like cops. Baseball is not fun, but it’s a living.

I'm rooting for them because I want Beltre and Endy Chavez to taste a championship.

Who's the color guy on ESPN radio?
I was listening while driving home, and he said something like, “What’s up with Beltre’s fielding? He seems to field well, but every time he gets ready to throw it’s like he freezes. Is something wrong?” Wow. Has he been on Mars?
I don't watch much NL ball so for all I know it might be fairly commonplace
but I’ve never seen anyone do what Adrian did in that at-bat.
Fill in the blanks on this Justin Smoak quote:
“Kinsler was a guy who took me under his ______ and showed me the ______ on and off the field. Looking back today, him being a pretty big-______ guy and me being a ______, he ______ed me a lot.”

Finally some offense.
It was like we were watching the Mariners and Padres there for a while.
Question,
Looking at a replay of Berkmans two-run single on MLB.com, it looked like the ball bounced foul. Am I missing something here?
It bounced back into fair territory before crossing first base.
Therefore it was a fair ball.

I hear he’s a Cardinal fan.

So wait. Pujols walked, right?
The ball that hit him bounced first. I know it doesn’t matter but it’s bothering me.

I'm seeing HBP on gameday.
But I think it did bounce.

He was hit by the pitch, and it counts as a hit by pitch even if it bounces in the dirt first.
The actual incorrect Pujols related box score item is that Pujols officially lined out in the first when Beltre caught the liner on the bounce. So there’s still something to be outraged about if anyone chooses to be.

I soooooo wish the ESPN radio feed was more in synch with TV because Dan, Orel and Bobbeh are soooo much better.
Of course, having them a tad ahead means that if you are moving around doing chores, you can still run back to the tv in time to see when something happens...
Crisis averted.
The Gameday radio feed is way behind but my trusty Radio Shack am/fm radio is ahead.
Of course he did! My intellect dreads October baseball for this very reason.
He’s looking pretty rough around the edges lately and he’s hella old. Please let it happen soon.
Sutcliffe's actually been alright tonight (granted I've had it muted for the past few innings)
Kept his focus on the baseball rather than how wonderful each of the players are as human beings and teammates, and how precious life is.
I know he’s a cancer survivor but it gets annoying sometimes.
Goddammit, Yadier.

I still would feel more comfortable with Carpenter over the next two innings.

Larry Stone:
The 2011 World Series doesn’t have the Yankees .. but it does have the damn yankers: Cardinals manager Tony La Russa and Rangers manager Ron Washington, who have shown absolutely no compunction about yanking their starter at the first sign of distress.

He plays LF in the same sense the Raul Ibanez plays it, but still. Good point.

Not so?

Nah, not Ichiro. He would have done something foolish like trying to bunt.
This was funnier in my head.

Maybe not. I guess my impression here was a fair number of people didn't care for him.
I don’t really care either way. I like who I like. Take Raul for example…..I like him, lawn darts and all.

But it sounded like such a Robert comment.
