For Fun: Worst Starting 9 AL

Just for fun, I decided to compile the worst position player from each position based on .wOBA and/or .wRC+ with Fangraphs as my source. Two reasons for this, 1) I needed an excuse to make my first ever FanPost and 2) I want to remind everyone that Olivo is the worst C in the AL.

C Miguel Olivo

1B Aubrey Huff

2B Mark Ellis

SS Yuniesky Betancourt

3B Casey McGehee

LF Vernon Wells

CF Alex Rios

RF Ichiro Suzuki

Not a cheap lineup either, huh?

You should probably mention that you’re only pulling players qualified for the batting title. Of which, importantly, there were only nine catchers in all of baseball.

Easy

1) It has eight players, not nine as the title suggests
2) A full 50% of the eight players aren’t even in the American League

Just a helpful hint, meant honestly in that spirit and not in a snarky one

if you’re not sure of the point of the post, don’t make the post. Take an hour or two and think it through, make it more solid, then post it. There’s no rush.
