Adam Kennedy arrested on DUI suspicion
Nearly six years ago, Richie Sexson made the same mistake and went on to slug .541, so based on a sample size of one, we're really going to hate Adam Kennedy in 2014.

Baseball player getting a DUI in Orange County?
If only he were still on the Angels.

They must have the wrong guy.
Did you see the headline? “MLB Star Adam Kennedy — Busted for DUI” Last time I checked, it’s been a while since we signed an MLB star.
We signed a pretty good pitcher last year

Unless you're talking about Bedard
We traded for Lee, didn’t sign him.

Man....
how many times have there been stuff happen to the M’s so far this off season you just have to shake your head at?
JD’s like, "you want some fucking pitching? Here’s all the pitching you can stand. Now choke on it, bitches!"- RCCook
LSB: "Oh shit, JD. You crazy!"
I've been shaking my head constantly.
But that’s probably because of the Parkinsons
I didnt even remember that we signed Adam Kennedy.
We’ve signed a lot of random people this year.
Seattle Mariners 2nd baseman [...] was busted for DUI in Orange County last night
Surprisingly not Bret Boone.
I'm sick and tired of these Mariners commiting these boring everyday crimes.
Where’s the Illegal Importing of a Endangered Animal? Where’s the Practicing Dentistry Without a License? Where’s the Conspiricy to Commit Regicide? Shouldn’t we as fans demand a better class of baseball criminal?
Dawg! He put da team on his back!
Rasheem Brock got busted for DUI then got super powers from the ordeal so I thinks that I likes this.
That was probably because he was driving a Hyundai
The moral of that story was if you are a celebrity who wants to get a DUI make sure you do it in a really shitty car so this way your fans get distracted by that and empathize with you.
Getting drunk is a rational response to waking up one morning and realizing you have signed with the Seattle Mariners
Taking a chance on killing yourself or others by driving while drunk is an over the top response though. Call a taxi.
I would think getting drunk would be the precursor to signing a contract with the M's
Not the reaction.

When I got back to the office, I called the California Highway Patrol in Orange County and confirmed that Kennedy had indeed been stopped in Newport Beach last night just before 9 p.m. The public information officer told me that Kennedy was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and arrested at 9:11 p.m on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was booked into the Orange County Men’s Central Jail, and released this morning.
…
One more thing: The officer I spoke to made a point of saying that the word “drugs” is part of the vehicular code and not necessarily indicative of any suspicion of drug use.
I was wondering whether he'd go into the holding cell in Angels gear or Mariners gear.
I guess the player gets to choose right?

So, ballplayers are human?
I don’t see this as a major issue. The M’s didn’t do anything with Sexson when it happened to him.
"I've seen prison breaks with more organization and cooperation than this"
He's saying all the right things.
It’s obviously bad to drink and drive, but people make mistakes. This incident doesn’t affect my opinion of him at all.
"I've seen prison breaks with more organization and cooperation than this"
This man would rather not be getting his picture taken just now

Newport Beach PD has a rep for hyper-aggressively policing their beach community. Not that I would know that from personal experience or anything.
