He tries every once in a while.
Turns out he’s not a very good bunter.

figgins error with 2 outs. That sounds familiar.
glad we got out of it this time.
They changed it.
It was clearly on Figgins.

Fortunately with the Mariners
I get that wish quite often!
I was thinking that too when I was listening to the game today.
Can you spot the bust?
8/31/10 - We're going to trade every starter besides Aaron Curry and Julius Jones for 4th-6th round picks

That Amica commercial is so terrible.
What does taking your friends out for lunch have to do with insurance?
The connection isn't about taking friends out for lunch.
The connection is that his friends have no idea where they’re going. When they get to the diner, the friends are perusing the menu. He takes the menus from them and orders them all the same sandwich—apparently a damn good sandwich, if they’re terrible acting is to be believed. It’s about sharing the good things you discover with friends.
He shares good sandwiches that he discovered by accident. Amica drivers share how awesome Amica is. Because you should switch insurance companies, look out for friends and build relationship with the things you do in life.
It is a terrible commercial, but the connection is right there in the voiceover script.

I have Amica. The commercials suck though, yes.
It was actually significantly cheaper than comparable coverage with Geico, Progressive, Allstate, State Farm, etc.

FYI, softball is also being played.
Some dazzling plays, some mighty hits, some not so much.
More runs are being scored there, however.
For those of us working and unable to watch the game
What happened?
Bad call, Acta and ump disagreed, ump threw him out.
Acta is upset at bad call, misunderstanding what he did to get thrown out, and he thinks the ump inadvertently spit on him.
SS snagged a ground ball and slid his foot on the back of 2B, but the Ump called us safe.
Acta came out to argue. It seemed to be a fairly reasonable exchange, then he got tossed. Nothing more than the umpires having a quick trigger finger, in my opinion.

Don Ruiz' summary.
" In the bottom half, Ichiro got on on a disputed infield single. The dispute was by shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera, who went to his left and throught he a force-out at second, but was ruled (apparently incorrectly) to have either missed the bag or touched it before he had control of the ball. In any case, he protested and then manager Manny Acta took over and was tossed."
If Ichiro get exactly 200 hits, this one may be no. 200.
Damn Felix is already at 85 pitches...
I hope they let him go through at least the 8th.
If Felix doesn't give up a run tonight
That would be 1 ER allowed in his last 6 starts… not only is that impressive, it seems like that would be almost historic?!?!
Not yet.
Buchholz at 2.25, Feliz at 2.32

Clay Buchholz, August 2010 AL pitcher of the month.
What.
The.
Fuck.

He won more games, I don't see what your problem is.

This does not portend well for Felix's Cy Young chances.
Oh well. It being an uphill battle is old news anyway.
Thome is easily the best.
But none of the above.

I think it is to show what the pitches look like at an angle more similar to the batter's.
I don’t like that you can’t tell where the pitch is.
There was a season or two in the late 90's/early 00's with cameras mounted in the catchers' masks.
That was mildly useful.
I thought that was badass....
Cancer is afraid of that scowl.
He did a hella thuggish slow look around though as he strolled off the mound.
His swagger is unstoppable!

That grand slam in Baltimore was really rotten luck.
The pitch was off the plate, letter high, Scott barely poked it to get the front row the opposite way. Meanwhile, Saunders had a clean bead on the ball in question and had his glove blocked by a couple of fans.
It just struck me that Diglett is a ground type.
Figgins, as a groundballer with speed, is also a ground type. Even more fitting.
On the other hand, Oh Felix!
may lead to some awkward moments during the more intimate times of life.
Muscle!
Also, Figlett!
Hmm, true.
wOBA-ly speaking, he is the best offensive player in the lineup. So if that is your basis, shouldn’t you have answered yes?
No.
Season sample size, career contribution, Ichiro’s value on the basepaths (which is factored into his WAR, but not his wOBA)… He asked “offensive” player. Ichiro! contributes offensive value beyond at-the-plate results. I just think it would be important to point out that Branyan is actually a strong offensive player.
Langersex is neither super, massive, nor a black hole.
He’s actually a league average player who has excess value as a fourth outfielder/occasional first baseman.
Yeah
I was going to post the Aardsma Express picture but by the time I found it there were two outs.
And the inevitable disappointment!

So the key is for Felix to go 8 innings.
Thereby bypassing the middle relievers that usually screw him over.
Everyone focuses on Lincecum's 15 win season as historic for the Cy.
Which it was, but Sparky holds the record for full season W/L record getting the Cy.
Perhaps I am less aware of the achievements of Sparky Lyle's really good but not great career than you are/many people.
I congratulate you on your achievements.
Today was my first Mariners game
Decided to go with Felix in my first game, just cause.
Pretty awesome, I caught a foul ball from Ryan Langerhans in the 8th inning and I bought a Felix jersey.
