Injuries!
Larry Stone with the most detailed tweet update:
Jack Wilson has a fractured fifth [metacarpal] in his right hand, M's just announced.
The fifth metacarpal is the bone below the pinky if I remember correctly. It occurred when Wilson slipped in his bathroom. He's seeing a specialist tomorrow, no word yet on how long he'll be out.

As I said in the other threat, second NW player to be hurt in their own bathroom in 2010
Joel Pryzbilla of the Blazers retore his patella tendon slipping coming out of the shower in February

Does anybody really buy the "fell in the bathroom" excuse?
I usually assume that’s just a cover for the real reason.
I don’t know about you guys, but I don’t think I’ve ever fell down in the bathroom
I have.
Slipped in the tub, busted my lip and needed a stitch. I don’t think that would have impeded on my failing on a baseball field though.
Bathrooms are the most dangerous rooms in any house.
Bathrooms have water, slippery surfaces, electricity; accidents happen all the time. I read that somewhere. My first inclination was that a kitchen would be, but who am I to question the interwebs.

Another injury to capital J Wilson?
I am so surprised.

Isn't that called a boxers fracture?
Did they mention whether he fell before or after he broke his fist? Doesn’t a broken hand put him out for the season?
I broke this same bone...
Punching a door when I was drunk… It is very hard to imagine breaking this bone slipping and falling in the bathroom. I had been punching things for years, and it took a LOT to break this bone…
Or maybe Wilson has osteoporosis… he is getting older. Take your Boniva!
Same thing with me.
I broke it punching a street sign (yeah, I know…real smart) after I got into a car accident. I told the doctor that the force of the car wreck whipped me forward and my hand hit the dash.
He didn’t buy it. As I was leaving he told me “Next time try not to punch anything.”
I used to work in an ER.
We saw boxer’s fractures all the time. Almost always from the demographic of 18-26 yr old males.

I took Karate for a dozen years, and one of the first things drilled into our brains was to connect with our first 2 knuckles when punching
Your right arm in particular (for those of us who are right handed) generates far more force than the smaller 2 knuckles on your hand can absorb.
Fortunately, Jack Wilson is more valuable to the Mariners when he isn't playing.
Way to add value, Jack!
I broke the bone right next to that (the one beneath the ring finger)
Punching a girl on the knee when I was in my “girls are icky” mode still.
Kneecap vs. thin bone in the hand, kneecap wins.
