I looked up, saw the M's lost, went meh and then got back to what I was doing.

Finally, the soothing balm of the Tropic of Cairo.

Hard work never killed nobody, but I won't take my chances.

Every day I can count on turning on the game for 10 seconds

Seeing the score is 6-1 with us losing, laugh, and go about my business.

I will watch Felix’s, Fister’s and Vargas’ starts though

I bet the downside of being Dave Niehaus or Dave Sims is that you can't completely check out like any other fan does.

Is it wrong to say that I am more or less checked out of the season? I don’t want to sound like a bad fan, but I am just so apathetic now. I still care about any moves the M’s make that affect them beyond this season, but they are just done now. Done.

I think that's how most people are

I’m still moderately excited when Smoak or Saunders come up to bat, but I think I’m more interested in our minor league teams than the M’s. Yay future. Yay hope.

Karma police, arrest this man.

I'm sort of the same. I only care about anything related to the future.

So that includes Smoak, Saunders, Moore, Pineda, and of course the good ones who are staying: Ichiro, Guti, Felix.

Yeah, that's where I am.

So I’m curious even about a longshot like Greg Halman.

When it's this bad...

…once in awhile I swear Niehaus will give a home team call to a great play by an opposing team player. Home run, defensive gem, impressive strike out, whichever. He always has a good call for a good play, but he’ll put a little extra on it. Seems like he just starts rooting for good baseball (IMO)

He has always done this, and I love that about him.

He just loves the game. He’ll give 100% to a call for the Mariners and maybe 90% to a nice play for the other team.

Well he has endured enough crappy Mariners seasons.

I can't believe that I moderatly paid attention to about 80% of this ballgame.

On the plus side, I think I might like this Justin Smoak fellah.

You're dead to me.

I'm not excited about Moore

I still think we shoulda got Montero…

by G@B3 on Jul 19, 2010 11:52 PM PDT reply actions

But Montero means no Smoak

and Moore would still catch over Montero

Moore's not going to be exciting.

But there are very few exciting catchers out there. If he can be a decent hitter, he’s a useful piece. Leave the exciting players for the positions where we can get them.

Oodles is one of my favorite words of all time.

Thank you, sir, for reminding me it exists.

It's hard to convince people to let you eat them if you're an asshole. - Thingray
