A young gentleman from Mill Creek, by the name of Matt Affleck, had an excellent stack heading into day 8 of the World Series of Poker Main Event. He was playing great, until he made one fatal mistake, he wore a Mariners jersey. Subsequently his Aces were cracked twice in large pots, once on a 665 flop they got it all in, his opponent held 75 so he was dead to running straight cards or binking one of hte two remaining 5's. The turn was an 8 river a 4, giving 75 the straight. The other incident was for a considerably larger ammount of chips this time, he held AA against JJ all in on a Q1097 board.........river an 8.
I am drawn to Baseball, and Poker for many of the same reasons, 1) both are competitive endeavors 2) both rely heavily on statistics that can/should influence decisions 3) There is a wide variety in style and play in both games.
That said How many of you are drawn to both poker and baseball?
