That's probably why he feels discomfort.
He’s being treated by the enemy!
…they should send down Huntington & Nutting, because they aren’t ready, either. - royshowell

Fucking Erik Bedard
I feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football. Ugh
I say we sign him to a 10 year contract starting today.
...and now I'm here

A one-year deal with 9 team option years
All worth $1 million with playing time incentives. We’ll keep waiting and waiting and waiting…..

For Bedard to pitch again in the majors he has to pitch through pain.
Like Todd Stottlemyre did for the last three or four years of his career. Bedard must get used to the idea that he will never throw another pain free pitch again. When he accepts that he may still have some limited success. If he waits until he is completely pain free to pitch, the wait will never end.
We don't not know that
I feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football. Ugh
Or he could still be injured because it generally takes pitchers 16 months or so to recover from a surgery like his
and if he attempts to “pitch through pain” as you say, he could end up ruining his arm even further. Let’s let the medical experts and the guy who can feel his arm be the judge on this one.

I like Bedard a lot, and have never complained about his injuries or toughness.
Pitchers get hurt, it is a fact of life & baseball. My guess is that the shoulder is so damaged that continued operations would have little chance of helping. The continued operations could actually contribute to scar tissue buildup and fraying of the bones, cartilage, tendons and ligaments that comprise the shoulder.
What Stottlemyre did was to stop having surgery and concentrate on rehab and physical therapy. He actually pitched some of the final years of his career in Arizona with a torn rotator cuff. Oh, the pain! I think Bedard will probably have a similar choice. Pitch to the best of his abilities with a bad shoulder, or hang’em up.
I doubt it ever happens, but it would be neat if some experimental surgery could be developed that fixed shoulders as well as TJ surgery fixes elbows.
I meant a 100% incentive based contract

That's not far off from what we did sign him for
$1.5 million guaranteed, while the incentives could reach something like 7 or 8 million?

Bedard lasted long enough for Felix to copy his windup and start kicking tons of ass
His work here is done.

Guy needs to man up!
I’ve never seen anyone take so much delight in being unable to work!
