Dustin Ackley Promoted
To Tacoma. Did you think I meant Seattle? That was hasty of you. Haste makes waste!
A couple other people got bumped up as well, likely because of the Cliff Lee haul arriving.

Time to go to Tacoma
…they should send down Huntington & Nutting, because they aren’t ready, either. - royshowell

Paredes and Varvaro.
I am intrigued by both of those pitchers.

Annoying that none of the announcement included the names
WHITE MAN FROM NORTH CAROLINA AND SECOND OVERALL DRAFT PICK DUSTIN ACKLEY PROMOTED TO THE TRIPLE-A TACOMA RAINIERS OF THE PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE with two others.

To be fair
the number of people interested in minor league relievers is pretty small, while Ackley is a big fucking deal.

SOMEONE THINK OF BILLY TRABER! WHY WON'T ANYONE THINK OF BILLY TRABER?
This is a day of mourning, people!
More seriously, I think this is probably bad news for Jack Hannahan
and worse news for Jeff Dominguez, though Dominguez is already pretty familiar with the Tacoma/Jackson, TN. shuttle these days.
Damn that's rough.
The Tacoma / Seattle shuttle is simple, but the task of going from AA to AAA back to AA is a cross country flight. No thanks.

Finally, a Tacoma roster worth going out and actually watching.
I hope they’re not rushing Ackley, though.
They aren't.
Since May 1, Ackley’s hit .304/.426/.439 with a 42:27 walk to k rate. It isn’t a high-power batting line, but remember, this is Ackley’s first pro ball season, and he also moved to 2B.

I'd take that at Safeco
(though of course he wouldn’t actually be doing that at Safeco, but you know what I mean)

Switching positions and not completely sucking offensively?
That’s a nice change of pace.
