I almost feel bad for him.
It’s has to be rough to go out there start after start and suck that much.

He's in an ok place. Young, can retire, doesn't need immediate employment.
He’ll be fine. Yeah, he sucks at baseball, but he can learn to do something else for the rest of his life and he probably doesn’t need to worry about what that is for a couple of years.

That game you were looking for, Jeff.
I think it just happened.

Don't know if its a hard and fast rule,
but adding -ant to a verb generally denotes a person who performs that action ie defendant, attendant, pissant (ok maybe not pissant). If you want to make a verb into an adjective you generally need to go for -ent, ie dependent, excellent, ardent etc. Sorry to be a painintheassant, people on this site do it all the damn time and I finally thought I’d say something.

Holy hell am I glad I missed this game.
So when is Snell going to get shitcanned??
Karma police, arrest this man.
I'd argue that losing the number one overall pick after winning the final series of the year was pretty close to floor.

There was no floor in 2008 and there is no floor now

No, there isn't.
I think that was the lowest we’ve been in recent memory though.

When that pick is the next once-in-a-generation pitcher, then fucking yes, that's the floor
This is the delayed residue. It’s just all floor.

I turned the game on in the 9th.
Had myself a good chuckle. Guess it’s setting in now
What sucks is that even though we're projected to end the season at 63-99, we're still not getting Anthony Rendon
Fuck you Orioles. Be better Adam Jones.
M's fan in the Bay, soon to be LA
Haven't seen that yet. Wow.
Yup, no way we are terrible enough to get him.
Dammit you're making Geoff Baker look smart about the Bedard trade is better after all!
You got slurved!
Not that I don't like Bedard I love him but goodness gracious that trade was horrible.
You got slurved!
We will never get Rendon.
Stop having hope.

We could always go to a three man rotation consisting of Tui, Sweendawg, and Kotchman
I feel like if we did that we could probably lose enough games to get Rendon
That would mean replacing Sweeney, Tui, and Kotchman with less than terrible hitters.
And replacing Snell, RRS, and possibly Vargas with better options (at least for Snell and RRS).
We might actually be better if we did that!

Watched about 30 seconds of the game tonight
and that was about 30 seconds too much. Man, this team sucks!

Well it looks like I just missed a dandy
Anyone care to give me a brief recap of what went so horribly wrong?

Aargh.
Just annihilate the team and put all the best goddamn trade chips on Craigslist or something and we’ll try again next year.

I will admit, after this offseason I was one of those who felt hope and thought that the site banner could be changed.

It's not so bad.
At least I know what to think about things now. The uncertainty troubled me.

Even if a miracle happened and we made the playoffs
I wouldn’t want to be seen watching us play a real baseball team.
Like the Rainiers?

If we made the playoffs, we'd be a real baseball team.
The M’s aren’t making the playoffs without playing like a 90+ win team the rest of the year. If you play like a 90+ win team for 3.5 months, you’re probably a pretty good team.

We'd at least be above .500.

I really wish the Mariners would just be terrible on a consistent basis
If you are bad enough for long enough eventually you get enough high draft picks to become good, like what Tampa Bay did, or what Washington is doing now, or even what we did in the late 80s and early 90s when we go Junior and A-Rod, but no, we have to be ok just often enough to keep us from getting anyone really good in the draft without quite being good enough that adding one or two free agents in the off season will get us to the post season.
These charts need to start being positive.
How about chance of a great draft in 2011?
(Although Cliff Lee leaving would make that better, don’t go Cliff)
Why does the chart start at 50%?
I’m thinking that based on the way the team plays that the chart should start somewhere around 25%.
