Shawn Kelley DL'd with elbow inflammation to make room for Doug Fister
It's retroactive to June 16th, since Kelley hasn't pitched in more than a week, so his DL stint is already most of the way over. Rules! Still, you never like to hear the term "elbow inflammation" in the same sentence as a talented pitcher, and seeing as Kelley was unavailable and not even in the bullpen yesterday, there could be something here. Let's all hope that Sean White goes all Green Mile and makes Kelley's discomfort his own.

I haven't figured out where to post it.
But here’s an article from Austin Peay Athletics about how Kelley tried to outpitch David Price, among other things.
He’s my favorite bullpen arm since George Sherrill and he needs to get healthy, damnit.

Not that I like wishing injury on anybody, because that's just MEAN...
But how come the shitty pitchers never get elbow inflammation… seriously.

Could we uh...help... Sean with that in some way?

Maybe this is why they went with White last night
In the game thread, a lot of complaints about Wak going with White when Kelley was available. This is the probable answer to what that decision was made. I hope this is nothing serious, it is not like the pen is full of awesomeness this year.
I was furious when the wrong Sean/Shawn was up last night, but this may explain why.
I sure hope so, because Wak loses big points if he can’t figure out this late in the season that Sean White should not be up unless the real Shawn cannot pitch for any reason last night.
