Wow... our lineup was ridiculously terrible today.
Even though wilson had a terrible day at the plate, I was impressed by his play at 1B. He made several fairly difficult plays.
Karma police, arrest this man.
He's a SS, he should look good there
Jose Lopez looked good there last year too.
I'm always amazed
At how so many of these close losses are (partially) due to gross mismanagement of resources. Josh Wilson facing Carlos Marmel? Sean White getting high leverage innings? How many times are we gonna do this bullshit?

I think it's fairly obvious, Wak.
SEAN WHITE BLOWS!

That was a bad performence from our line up.
At least Felix pitched well

So the lineup effectively lost two games.

How is repeatedly bringing in Sean White not grounds for firing?
This isn’t the crux of the argument for his firing but Wakamatsu repeatedly bringing in the team’s worst player not named ‘Rob Johnson’ to hold games in the balance provides a nice and tidy summary of why he isn’t capable of in-game management. If the team were to let him go at the end of the season, or sooner, I’d have no second thoughts about it.
What is that a picture of?
Cubs are reclining on the bed and the Mariners are eating Chinese food, and the game is in a treasure chest?
The M's should put the game behind them?
While the Cubs are enjoying contemplating how lovely it is?
Or maybe it represents the M’s letting the Cubs have this one.
The Cubs stick figure clearly is waiting for a blowjob

The Cubs stick figure is clearly Carlos Silva in his own fantasy land
He’s skinny, has plentiful chinese food, and is about to get a BJ… all in the presence of an important M’s game he doesn’t give a shit about.
Not sending up Langerhans for Wilson v. Marmol is a criminal offense

We still have langerhans?

As I said walking out of the game, when the Mariners are good opposing fans never take over
the stadium. So fuck the Mariners for sucking because I am tired of going to games and being outnumbered by the opposing fans.
This was beyond outnumbered
This was a full-on takeover, and it was unbelievable. But yeah, if the M’s are a good team this doesn’t happen.
I hate Sean White so fucking much
But Wak continues to go to him. And seriously, use Langerhans as a PH against Marmol you fuckface Wak.
I couldn't see the game.
Was stupid Rob Johnson responsible for Felix’s wild pitch?
by Thurston24 on Jun 24, 2010 6:02 PM PDT via mobile reply actions
Figured as much
I couldn’t watch but had Gamecast on my computer while in a meeting and when I saw “Wild Pitch” pop up on Gamecast I reflexively yelled, “Fuck you, Rob Johnson, you cocksucker” in the middle of the meeting.
Maybe Felix likes Rob as his catcher because it is more challenging for him…kind of leveling the playing field when you know your catcher will allow the runner to advance in a key situation every game. When does Bard come back?

That pitch wasn't terrible hard to block though.
He knew what was coming and failed to get in front of it with more than part of this right leg. Pretty sad attempt at his job if you ask me.
And just like that I feel better about the imminent Cliff Lee trade
we don’t deserve him.
Seattle sports fans deserve all good things to happen and great players to stay
Regardless of any current malaise/mismanagement.

The fans aren't responsible for bringing in the White Flag
Nor are we responsible for going 3 – 16 with RISP.
I wonder is Sean White and Rick White may be related some how.
2010 Safeco Field Record: 1-1 ; Overall Safeco Field Record: 11-5
Wow, fuck Rick White
I cannot believe he only pitched in 6 games for us that season. To me it seemed like he was going to make damn sure we weren’t going to make the playoffs that year.
Carlos Silvelite
Why are we so angry about the usage of Sean White?
Just to be clear, I don’t like White. As the manager’s terrible faux-groundballer security blanket, he’s Wak’s Julio Mateo. Which, obviously, isn’t good and makes him easy to hate.
But what’s the gripe in this specific instance? Wak had already used his two relief aces, Aardsma and League, in earlier high-leverage situations. He even used Olson ahead of White. Is the complaint that he didn’t leave those guys in long enough? Is it that Kelley would have been such better option that the White choice was an outright blunder rather than a debatable choice that turned out badly? Or is it just that we’re venting because we’re frustrated about a season in which nearly everything has gone wrong and we’re probably about to lose Cliff Lee?
Please help me understand so I can generate the appropriate level of outrage.
Thanks.
That was my guess, but I wanted to make sure I understood before generating some righteous indignation.

In my view it was that White sucks and literally anyone else would have been better.
Putting Olson out there for two batters when he’s our only real long reliever was retarded, even if he is a lefty.
Somewhat unrelated, but boy, what an impact Brian Sweeney has made.
by Mariner John on Jun 24, 2010 10:46 PM PDT up reply actions
Part of the frustration is that White is even on the team
White has an xFIP of almost 6. And he keeps getting put in ground ball situations, when he clearly is not actually a ground ball pitcher. He has walked twice as many batters as he has struck out this season. (5:10 K:BB).
Meanwhile, we cut Kanekoa Texeira (xFIP of 4.39, 22:14 K:BB and pitching well for the Royals) and even Jesus Colome’s FIP is half a run better than White’s, with much better K:BB numbers.
Since Kelley was unavailable yesterday I (halfway) understand going to White after Olson was already burned (which was dumb). But the fact that White keeps getting opportunities at all is idiotic.
Random question...
I blew up my wrist on Tuesday and looks like I need surgery. I’m researching my surgeon and it looks like he worked on Rob “PB” Johnson this offseason. I can’t decide if this a pro or a con for my treatment.
:)
That game does not stand alone in this regard, but if any game represents the first three
months of the 2010 season it was that one.
