It's June 2nd. Normally, in the Northwest at least, late May and early June is a reliably decent time of year, weather-wise; nice, somewhat warm days, cool nights, and the occasional day or three of rain to break it up before lurching head on into summer. But this year has been RIDICULOUS. This was the wettest May Portland has seen in 40+ years, and June is starting out just as cataclysmically.
I am a Northwest native, and so I should be used to this, but as I went to work today and it was raining so hard I could barely see, I just realized I'm done. I want summer, dammit. This is November weather, and it's June. I want sun.
I have no weather related question, I just needed to vent a bit and a new OFFTOP needed to be put up so here we are. My actual question, though, is this. Deadspin is doing "blood week" this week - tales and photographs of all sorts of horriffic injuries. Is this really necessary? I like Deadspin OK but they seem to have gotten less inclined to write good stories and more inclined towards stuff like this, and it's irritating. What do you think of Deadspin? And in a related question, I need to refresh my Google Reader - anybody discovered good new humor/satire/music websites lately?
It's also been a while since I've been to a movie. Anybody seen anything good in the theaters lately?
