To be honest, this past week has seen me pay as little attention to baseball as I can recall in recent memory. A combination of heavy workload, moving and the World Cup schedule aided by the futility exhibited by the Mariners on a nightly basis has led me to feel nary a pang of guilt over taking a break from baseball. A side effect though is that I have little new to write here other than this very explanation. Sorry.
However bad and frustrating the Mariners' 2010 season has been, I believe this mini break will aid me in getting back into the team. Sometimes it takes avoiding baseball for a few days to remember how much I do love the game deep down. It can be difficult to appreciate during the season with games running nearly everyday. Baseball was my first love and it will always have that place in my heart. It's just going to take a back seat to soccer for the next couple weeks.
Fri Jun 18, 17:10: Cliff Lee* vs. Johnny Cueto
Sat Jun 19, 17:10: Felix Hernandez vs. Sam LeCure
Sun Jun 20, 13:10: Ryan Rowland-Smith* vs. Aaron Harang
I can issue another reminder to enjoy Cliff Lee while you can. Stories are being written about Jack Z getting phone calls about Lee which, well duh, but once those stories reach the news media it always feels like an inevitable conclusion is near at hand. Three righties for the Reds could hopefully mean some more stats for Michael Saunders in left field which is neat to watch. They also mean a diminished chance of seeing any Matt Tuiasosopo this series which is so relieving it should be some sort of nationally declared holiday.

I was gonna ask this
They said tendinitis in his knee right? That seems like something you’d need more than a day and a half off for
What's the deal with corn nuts?

I like how this sentence
Three righties for the Reds could hopefully mean some more stats for Michael Saunders in left field which is neat to watch
works equally well with or without the letter that may or may not have been intended.
Mariners take 2/3
Felix or Lee, pitch a no-hitter this series. Give us something to be excited about this season. Please?
Being as I at the game tonight...I vote on the Cliff Lee no-hitter
Any other LLer’s at SafeCo tonight?

Yep. Not too thrilled about the masses due to it being a bobblehead night.
All in the name of Criff.
Where are you guys sitting?

I don't think RRS is handsome
And according to my wife I’m an expert at judging male handsomeness.

I love the fact that "3 righties in a row" doesn't mean we see Griffey at DH

This is first M's game that's been on TV in my area in over a month
I’m excited. Could be the last time I get to watch Cliff Lee pitch as a Mariner. As luck would have it, the Dodgers/Red Sox game is on too so I’ll be obligated to flip back and forth to see Manny Ramirez get things thrown at him from the stands.
Participating in the game threads when all you have is Gameday just isn’t the same…woohoo!
And also the Blue Jays game is on and Brandon Morrow is pitching
Geez looks like christmas came early for me this year

Mike Sweeney is taking BP
Make of it what you will.

Divish said Sweeney could be activated for tonight if he feels good.
Also, the Reds DH tonight is Miguel Cairo.

And they're in first place!
For starting Cairo as a DH, they deserve to lose the division to the Cards. Although I suppose they should be cut some slack seeing as they aren’t usually required to have one.

Just realized...
That I am going on sunday for Father’s day, and am NOT excited about RRS starting…
