Fan Gauge: Mike Sweeney

I like the guy, I think he’s a good guy. I just don’t want him on the active roster.

but for my criteria, I’ve been taking into account my current feelings whenever I think about the player in question. And until Mike Sweeney goes away, I just don’t like his big dumb face.

The big problem is that having him on the team along with Griffey create a bottleneck in flexibility. Not to mention between Griffey and Sweeney our DH production has been off-the-charts horrible.

I don’t like the fact that the team brought Sweeney on based on a super-hot spring. But on the other hand, Sweeney fought his way on the team while Ryan Garko sucked. That’s not Sweeney’s fault.

I think Sweeney still has a little bit left in the tank. This is just the wrong team to showcase that in.

Therefore, dislike.

I wish Mike Sweeney was better at baseball. On 710 today he said something along the lines of “If you don’t feel love and compasion for milton bradley when you know who he is, you dont truly have a heart.” Stand up guy, not a good player.

So yeah.
