New observations!
- His left-right has evened up.
- Holy moly, he sucks on the road. That’s bad. Clinton is probably the best hitting park in the league.

Can you really say his left-right has evened out when he's had less than 50 AB against lefties?
Kinda seems like the definition of small sample size. Also less than 100 AB on the road or at home, I know Clinton is a hitters park… but still… small sample size.

The definition of 'evened out' is 'become close to equal'
Jay isn’t saying that he has no platoon split (are you?) – most players do. But it’s worth noting that platoon splits are largely overhyped and are subject to regression to career numbers.

I put more emphasis on minor league splits
because the talent level is more distributed. At the major league level almost all players have at least a certain level of skill so platoon splits tend to be relatively uniform. At least that would be my guess.

I only mention that because there were some concerns raised about his swing from the right side early in the year.
He started out horrible, now he’s doing fine. Small sample, sure, but it’s something.

It can't be THAT much of a hitter's park
Maybe it has to do with opposition? Anyway, I guess even adjusting for Clinton his home OPS would be what, 1.100? 1.050? Still super.

It doesn't do a whole lot, it's just relative to the league.
The Midwest League is notoriously difficult to hit in and so what would be a blip on the radar elsewhere becomes more of a big deal. Aliant Energy Field has a home run factor of something like 1.05, favoring left-handed bats a bit more, which is part why you see Franklin with seven dingers at home and only one on the road (bizarrely). It also favors triples and hey, what do you know, the Lumberkings are sixth in that category.
Even those factors would be hardly noticeable some place like the California League. Additionally, Wisconsin was the second-best hitting park, so it’s not like us moving from Inland Empire to High Desert. I’d actually prefer to have a decent park for hitting in the MWL, so long as we had something more oriented towards pitching in the Cal League.

The fact that Nick Franklin is younger than me makes me scared.

The time comes for all of us
Rafael Furcal was the first Major Leaguer to be younger than me. I will always remember him for that.
I feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football. Ugh
He was born in 1991?
Since when were people born in the 90s? The 90s were when I… I dunno… hung out or something, and was a teenager. People weren’t BORN then, right?
Most kids entering the 4th grade next year weren't born when 9/11 happened.

Just great.
One generation is offended by my jokes, and the other won’t know what the hell I’m talking about.

What's worse, people born in the early 90/91 are hot now, and legal.
Its horrifying and demoralizing when you come to that realization.
Hard work never killed nobody, but I won't take my chances.
Legal yes. Hot, not really.
The reality is that people born in 1983 are now and always will be the sexiest mother fucking beasts alive.

He plays good defense right?
Wasn’t that the main reason we drafted him?
Right now I'm dreaming of Carl Crawford. Maybe next year...(or this year at the trade deadline)...
How long before we should expect a Double-A call up?
This is the first year I’ve paid attention to anything below Triple-A. I’m very curious about Franklin’s impending call up along with some of the guys in Double-A like Pineda and Liddi.
Carlos Silvelite
That's probably not going to happen this season.
He might end up in High Desert around the end of the year, but that’s just advanced-A. This new front office is quite conservative on their promotion scheme.
