Divish is full of good news
Erik Bedard's still got discomfort in his shoulder. Getting to the point where, if he makes ten starts, I'll be shocked.

Lets be honest
Anyone who thought Bedard was coming back from labrum surgery was delusional. That recover typically takes at least a year, if ever.
That's easy to say right now.
A month ago everyone was talking about him returning in late May. This latest piece of news is disappointing.
It's disappointing, but everyone should've remained cautious
People got ahead of themselves.

I didn't believe the hype back then either.
I don’t know if you read a blog post by Larry Stone a while back. It gave a history of pitchers with similar surgery. The outlook was bleak back then. It would have been quite the exception to the rule if Bedard made it back by May.
One might go so far as to even say that this is bad news!

At least he's got that incentive-laden contract and if he re-signs for another year, maybe there's hope for 2011.
We’re looking that far ahead anyway.
