Another Griffey Song
With appologies to Attractive Nuisance, and of course to Bruce Springsteen...
Hey Ken Griffey where’s your bat speed gone?
Did it go away, leaving you flailing on?
This is getting dire
Please retire
Tell me now Griffey of your legacy
Do you want it to include destroying this team
This is getting dire
Please retire
Sometimes it’s like someone took your bat Griffey
Filled it with lead, and cut a six inch valley
Through the middle of its head
Each time you take a swing have you noticed that
With a fastball running through the
Middle of your bat
It’s time, this is getting dire
Please retire

I don't know but I know if there's going to be a rash of these things posted I'm going to get stabby really fast
No offense David, but I know how fast these things take off and I hope this doesn’t spawn a whole slew of Señor Spielbergos trying to be AN’s cut price Mexican equivalent.
I am already at that stabby point.. I don't understand.

But I worked so hard on my Mariners themed version of "Tequila" by the Champs.
It’s okay though, this sneak peak will get you so hot you’ll be begging to read the rest.

I didn't intend to provoke murderous thoughts
It’s just a song parody. I understand the sentiment, but let there be room for two of them, please?
The problems are they spawn like bunnies and they get really personal really fast
Somebody posts one, somebody else posts one, then somebody different posts “this one’s not as good as that one why did you bother you suck” and then it goes downhill from there.
I have no desire nor intention to murder you, by the way.
For what it's worth,
my view is that nobody forces anyone else to read a Fanpost. Posting anything at all can be nerve-wracking, and sometimes you have to go through a few bloopers to get to a webgem. You’re not hurting anything by sharing your effort.
I doubt we’re going to see a flood of song parodies. Song parodies are dumb.

I am working on an "Innermost Recesses of Ichiro's Soul" diorama

I would just like to note,
that this is an excellent post that has been wasted on this low-traffic real-estate. *Pats himself on the back.

And was then further devalued by overt neediness
I kid, I kid
As long as that diorama can then be adapted into a theme park ride it’ll be awesome.
In light of recent events, more song parodies may be in order!
I think when people are being funny, they are actually being serious and when people are being serious, it's actually really funny.
I'd rather have song parodies
than the parody of a baseball team that’s taken the field this year.
"Get offa my lawn!"
Go for it.
Just put it as a comment in Attractive Nuisance’s post so that they are all in one place.
...and now I'm here
This is probably the best compromise.
If it’s going to become a meme, we might as well contain it in one thread.
Is that the light at the end of the tunnel, or the headlights of an oncoming train?
I don't think parodies qualify as meme.
Although I can see how making ditties about Griffey going away could get old quickly.
Much like Griffey.
Ba-zing!
...and now I'm here
