I hate softball

If it weren’t for softball, all the public fields in town I want to pitch on would have mounds. That said, this is hilarious.

He might have been a half-assed Major Leaguer, but that still puts him in the upper 1% of everyone who has ever played baseball. Shouldn’t he go 3 for 3? Shouldn’t he never get an out? Shouldn’t he be able to lace a line drive on demand? Maybe he successfully put down that bunt we needed … that could explain the out.

I am a 30 year old middle school English teacher

and I rarely get out … I’m just going to be interested to see how his stats continue to stack up. I expect a .900+ .avg by the end of the season.

Some softball leagues are highly competitive

And this would seem to be one of those leagues, judging from the professional-looking uniforms and the apparent ages/fitness levels of the guys on the team.

Plus you know Byrnes is going up there hacking away… he’s aware that much of the time he’ll be able to blast it out of the park. I doubt he’s going for line drives, he’s going for longballs that make the other team go “!!!!!.”

Since there are 4 outfielders in softball, some of those fly balls will get caught. I predict a BA of .650.
