April 7 Non-Mariners Game Thread/ Pre Game Thread
Right now just watching the Dodger/Pirates game and figured other people might be out there watching games and wanting a place to comment. Kershaw still has no control, he is not going to make it past the fifth inning before hitting 100 pitches; Garrett Jones doing his best to prove last year was not a fluke, and Jeff Clement is yet to do much in this game other then field pick off throws from Ross Ohlendorf.

Strikes out on a breaking ball in the dirt
Kershaw is a pretty nasty lefty to have to face but he didn’t look too good in that bat. He also laid off a fastball right down the middle

Andy LaRoche up
Kershaw just bounced a curveball two feet in front of the plate

Walked on 5 pitches
Kershaw is getting pulled, look whose coming in

Good one.
Made me think who that was for a while.

Oh well
Interestingly, both Russ Ortiz and Jeff Weaver are pitching out of the Dodgers bullpen.

For all of you waiting on bated breath,

Brandon Morrow starts for the Jays tomorrow (or later today).
Should be something interesting to keep an eye on.
He got out of the first inning without giving up the lead.
I like using semi-colons; they make me feel smart.
Morrow and Bergesen combined to throw 68 pitches in the first inning.

Bergesen then proceeds to throw a 3-pitch second inning
Gods the Jays are bad.

5K and 5BB through 5 innings
Very typical Morrow.

Morrow looks like shit.
I’m happy. That may make me a bad person but oh well.
Did you watch the start?
The first inning? Pretty wild strike zone. Early in the inning, you’d figure it was going okay (minus hitting Jones), but he got wild as the inning progressed. He had pretty solid control, stayed down in the zone with some consistent movement.
I can't believe Mark Hendrickson is still on a roster

Tim Tschida is calling the Atlanta/SF game right now
And he’s still fucking terrible. Still not giving obvious strikes.
Charlie Haeger is pitching against Florida.
So far he looks like a good knuckleballer. But it’s only been 2 innings.
What, no Vin Scully?
I’m disappointed. Does he only do home games or something?

Rich Waltz on the Florida feed is good.

Well he had 7 Ks through 3.
Apparently they’ve picked up on it though.

Man, this catcher's almost as bad as Rob Johnson.

At least he's actually catching a difficult pitch.

I was joking.
I can’t imagine Rob catching a knuckleballer would be all that different to what we normally see though.

He would just catch none of them.
We would just put a cardboard cutout of him just so the ball might not go all the way to the backstop every time.

The Astros remain baseball's only winless team and are currently losing 1-0 to Roy Halladay.
